Orange County, which is close to home for ENDALGO (Los Angeles) is also an area full of super active soccer players; if you drive around in the OC area, there’s bound to be a pickup game going on almost any time, any day. Orange County is such a large county, so we will have a series of OC-located soccer fields, complexes, parks, facilities, etc. This post includes a lot of the locations where ENDALGO groups and users play.
If you’ve been to Orange County (or, more specifically, Irvine), you’ve probably come across that huge orange air balloon; this is where Orange County’s Great Park Soccer Complex is located. The park has a 5,000-seat soccer stadium that is home to Orange County SC (part of USL) and California United Strikers FC (part of NISA), and moreover, it has 24 additional soccer fields! Tons of youth and amateur teams and pickup soccer groups train and play in this complex; any soccer player in OC should check this place out. The fields are open from 8:00 am to 11:00 pm on the weekdays and 7:00 am to 11:00 pm on the weekends.

With Sunset Ridge Park being in Newport and on the hills, you could imagine how beautiful the view would be. Although there’s only one field, it’s a full pitch; you can sight teams and clubs on the weekdays and an active pickup scene on the weekends. One bad thing about this park is parking; there isn’t a parking lot, so people have to find street parking. The park is open from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm every day.

If you’ve been to Lake Forest Sports Park, you probably would have seen a handful of groups playing different sports; flag football, ultimate frisbee, lacrosse, soccer, etc. There’s just plenty of grass area for any groups to play their sports. However, the beauty of this place is obviously the two full-sized soccer fields (they also have great stands for fans and audiences to watch the game. The quality of the fields can be described pretty easily -- UPSL games are held here. The pitch here is any soccer player’s dream. The park is open Monday through Saturday, 8:00 am to 10:00 pm, and Sunday, 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Outbreak Soccer Center is a cool place in Huntington Beach. It has indoor turf fields and futsal fields. They gave their own training programs and adult and youth leagues, so if you’re having difficulties in finding a place to start soccer, Outbreak can be a smart choice. The facility also opens pickup games, so check out their game schedule on their website for a quick game. They are open from 6:00 am to 12:00 am, but upon request, field rentals can be reserved up to 1:00 am.

Bill Barber Park is another gem for soccer lovers in the OC area. The park features 3 soccer fields, but note that this grass area can be shared with the baseball fields. The close-to-full-pitch fields bring plenty of room for small-sided pickup games on the weekends (residents say that they see more soccer going on than baseball or softball). Bill Barber is a clean and well-maintained park in general. Park hours are from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm every day.

It’s actually more difficult to pick out a short list of soccer fields in Orange County because, first of all, there are so many, and secondly, all the fields and parks are so well maintained. You could literally find large grass areas everywhere that can be used for a quick 5v5 pickup game. It’s impossible to summarize the fields in this area, so we’ll continue to update with more information on the county’s favorite spots for soccer.
