Outbreak Soccer Centers is that special place that lets you play without any fuss. Walk in the doors and you can be in a match in under five minutes — that’s a big plus.
They offer field rentals, adult and youth leagues, and plenty of training opportunities. Classes in everything from Ball Mastery to Coerver Fundamentals make Outbreak Soccer Centers a real gem.
Nightly pick-up sessions mean you have plenty of opportunities to play, and did we mention the first session is free? Not too shabby.
Plenty of both! Outbreak Soccer Centers offers both Adult and Youth pickup games regularly. You can either register ahead of time or show up for a drop-in — the facility will accommodate either option. If you’re looking to play during peak times, however, it’s a good idea to put in a registration ahead of time. You don’t want to be the odd man out!
A single pickup will run you $10, which is rapidly becoming the standard fee at facilities like this. It’s a fair price and, given the quality of the facility, well worth the price.
Check out the booking information here. You’ll need to select “Adult Enrollment” or “Youth Enrollment” for more booking information, including access to their online reservation and registration system.
You’ve got a range of options, but the majority of pickup games are 5 on 5. Each game is 6 minutes, so they’ll go by fast. No team is allowed to play more than two games back-to-back, so there’s plenty of chances to take a breather or sub another player in.
If you’re looking for something other than the standard 5×5, there’s a 4v4 small turf match played every Monday night.
Outbreak Soccer Center definitely gives off a casual vibe, but there’s a strong sense of commitment with the players. There’s a fairly strict signup process — it’s cheaper to register online ($8 versus $10 as a drop-in), which favors players who are more serious about playing.
There are no cleats, no tackling, no hats, and no foul language allowed (as would be expected).
It’s definitely worth mentioning that if you’re considering Outbreak as your new pickup soccer home, you should register online! It knocks $2 off each session, which can add up to a pretty penny over the course of a season.
You know it! The current schedule can be found here.

For Youths, games are:
As you’d expect, Outbreak Soccer Center has loads of internal leagues and divisions. You’ve got:
And plenty more!
Just like the pickup game option, you need only to register your team online and follow their instructions to join the league. They have a pretty full schedule, so get it on sooner than later!
Arena Soccer Parks is a low-cost option for people looking for a soccer field in the Garden Grove area. Don’t expect much in terms of facilities — it’s pretty much a field and some lights — but it does have everything you need to play. Benches, water fountains, and a snack bar/restaurant makes this little facility a perfect fit for locals.
On top of that, Arena Soccer Parks offers competitive league games every day of the week and you’re able to rent the field for your own matches if need be.
Arena Soccer Parks does not offer dedicated pickup game hosting, but with two artificial fields (one full-sized and one smaller), there’s plenty of opportunities for some great soccer action. Both fields have plenty of lighting, making them perfect for late-night games where you’ll want to see the action as clear as possible.
While there are no dedicated pickup games, it is possible to rent fields by the hour. There is no online booking, but the facility’s staff are more than able to provide reservations if you give them a call.
Check out their website for more information!
The league games are a mix of Co-ed 6×6, Men’s 6×6, Men’s 4×4, Women’s 6×6, and Women’s 4×4. There is also a mix of different age groups for the various leagues, including a unique 50+ division for men and a 30+ division for women.
The games during regular hours are scheduled league games, so expect a fair level of competitiveness from the players. Everyone has a great attitude and the staff encourage the players to be on their best behavior.
If there’s one thing the staff is on point about, it’s the attention to member cards and payment. Before playing, every player will give his player card to the staff and players that don’t have them will be asked to pay or leave. They don’t mess around!
When available, the best thing about this facility is the mini-field! Ideal for fast 4v4 soccer, this little field puts a whole new spin on the idea of fast-paced soccer. Give it a shot — even if you need to reserve the field ahead of time, it’s well worth the effort.
On top of that, the facility’s league games don’t offer anything but 6×6 and 4×4 matches. In a world dominated by 5×5, it’s nice to see a facility like this buck the trend!
Sadly, there are no regularly scheduled pickup games.
Arena Soccer Parks offers a large set of in-house competitions. As we mentioned above, you can expect Men and Women’s games 6×6 and 4×4 matches, plenty of Co-Ed options, and games for those over the age of 50 (men) or 30 (women).
This state-of-the-art soccer training facility focuses on producing better soccer players. Training classes, development programs, and top-tier coaching are all within!
Nightly pick-up games and superbly-talented coaching staff make the Deft Touch Soccer Center an excellent place for all things soccer. There’s a handful of different party packages (yes, including a glow-in-the-dark theme) to keep the kids entertained as well.
Deft Touch has worked with two professional soccer players — Jonathan Bornstein and Kevin Venegas — so there’s plenty of street cred here.
Deft Touch knows that pickup hosting is where the fun is at — they go all out. The facility offers pickup games for youths and adults with a mix of 4×4 and 5×5 set-ups.
No teams needed and no unnecessary costs. Deft Touch offers pickup games with a nominal fee of just $5 — it’s cheap, and that’s how it should be.
There are two sessions: Round Robin and “King of the Cage” (winner stays on). An individual session is $5. If you want to play both, a flat $8 gets you both sessions. It’s worth the money, trust us!

Is neither an option? Deft Touch Soccer Center opted to host 4v4 and 5v5 pickup games. We’re personally big fans of 4×4 — it’s fast, furious, and loads of fun.
Deft Touch Soccer Center puts a more competitive spin on soccer than other facilities. It’s important to remember that DTSC is more of a training academy than anything else — that alone means the player base is a little more hardcore than usual.
The format of the pickup games is competitive as well. Every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday features a Round Robin format followed by a “King of the Cage” style tournament where the winner stays on. It’s a great take on making pickup games a little more intense, so it’s definitely worth checking out!
As we mentioned above, the mix of 4×4 and 5×5 Round Robin games and the unique “King of the Cage” format gives these games a unique feel. It’s not as serious as league play, but it’s a great twist on an otherwise casual format. Every pickup game is co-ed, so don’t worry about having mixed groups.
If there’s one thing Deft Touch Soccer Center has, it’s pickup games. Check out the schedule below:

Deft Touch Soccer Center doesn’t offer any particular in-house club or league play (it’s in the works, according to the staff). The more serious pickup game format takes up some of the slack, thankfully.
Deft Touch is really aimed at skills improvement, excellent coaching, and training camps. We’re eagerly awaiting their expansion into league play!
